Pixiv Encyclopedia: Tanabata

2011 July 7
by Spiritsnare

What follows is a loose translation of the pixiv entry on July 7th — the holiday of Tanabata in Japan. I figured I’d see what other characters’ birthdays I could rep other than Tsukasa Hiiragi and Kurihara-senpai (above), triggered by a couple of folks repping Senjougahara (Bakemonogatari‘s stapler heroine) on Twitter.

In any case, here you go.

July 7th (7月7日 – pronounced “shichigatsu nanoka”) is the 188th day of the year (189th on leap years). On pixiv, there are a lot of Tanabata-related pictures that get posted.

Hmm. Admittedly, I’ve not seen nor played the majority of these series…so, in the end, happy birthday, Tsukasa, Kagami, and Kuri-chan. I’m sure there’s someone out there in the Western fandom for each of the rest of the characters here…somewhere out there.
My Fanime and Anime Expo postmortems to come soon. Anime Expo, which was this past weekend, was quite a bit of fun…and hectic, as usual. I still spent only some 1.5 hours total in the dealer’s hall, sorta like last year.
