…for the fujoshi, that is. First, you have Edogawa crossdress to humorous effect, then you have Edogawa take it one step further, as seen above…replete with hearts, and a grinning Saku. It’s getting sorta scary when I can’t even tell it’s him at first glance.

To his credit, he only had the wig on, but, uh…

Sora no Manimani 9 was great. Oumi – heck, the Nogishiro club and meet in its entirety – was great. The insert song was a nice touch (in other words, great.)

And Edogawa continues to be, like, the star of the show, despite everyone else being, well, great.

I see a bunch of Sony Sou-nii and Mii-chan next episode. It looks great.

Episode 8 of Sora no Manimani was a good watch; a great watch, even. On the other hand, call me biased – the cultural festival portion of the episode was the first chapter of the manga I read, and therefore my hook into the series.

Despite having read it like three or four times before finally finding the tankoubon for volumes one and two at my local Kinokuniya, there are scenes like the one this above screencap is adapted from that I don’t remember reading. Upon further examination (tankoubon 3, chapter 16), it totally was in the original work – but as three panels that fill half a page of content, and without the classy three-second buildup the anime had.

Oh, and the kick and ensuing spin? Anime-exclusive. Great stuff.

Including Kotozuka, that’s twelve girls in a summer house — twelve being the magic number for Giga galge Colorful Kiss and Colorful Heart.

When subs (and subsequent reviews) for Episode 3 come out, I’m willing to bet a good chunk of posts will feature Roma-buchou in a loincloth thing, below. This is pro stuff; I agree with Bokutachi no Blog when Scamp proclaims “the only reason he’s not in the Ouran Host Club is because they thought he would take all the women for himself“, he’s so good.

It’s out, and it covers chapters 3 and 4, as expected. What I didn’t expect was coverage of chapter 5 – they’re moving really fast! I wouldn’t be surprised if they managed to squish the six available tankoubon into…wait, how many episodes is it supposed to be?!

A quick trip to ANN shows that they’ve got 13 episodes planned, as expected (26 would require some sort of filler, and that’s something I’d rather not have, even if it is 26 episodes of Sora no Manimani!), while MyAnimeList claims 12. AonE has picked up the show for subbing, which is good – quite a number of people trust AonE’s releases.

Also, in this episode: actual astronomy! Learn about curving the Big Dipper to find the Great Spring Triangle! EDUCATION FOR EVERYONE!

I’m almost sorta sad that this blog isn’t an anime blog; otherwise I’d be singing the praises of the show repeatedly and the first three pages of any given anime blog aggregator would be about me hyping up the series…Or something like that.

With Sora no Manimani episode 2 coming up in just a few hours, I went to see what everyone had to say about the first episode (thanks AB Antenna and Anime Nano, anime blog aggregator gods):

Tenka Seiha: “This gets a resouding “bleh” in my book. I actively dislike both of the leads and I’m not sure there’s a creative bone anywhere in this show’s production office. They’d have one hell of an uphill battle to redeem either of the two.”

Star Crossed Anime Blog: “This episode had its amusing parts, but it lacked proper build-up: the crying scenes really came from out of nowhere and felt forced and with such an excellent season, I really doubt that I’m going to continue with this one.”

Ten yes, two maybe, two no, and a lot of them are proclaiming the show to be potentially the best anime this season; I’m liking how this looks. Let’s see Hime-chan in action, shall we?

Sora no Manimani episode 1 is now out on various torrent trackers. I’ve found it to be twice as camp as the manga.

I’m working on a softsub file for it. Hopefully I can get it out soon, and on said torrent trackers.

Something I just realized: Tanabata – July 7 – is coming up in nine days.

Tanabata happens to be the birthdate of the Hiiragi twins, of Lucky Star fame.

Tanabata also happens to be the day the first episode of Sora no Manimani is aired. (I sorta realized this a bit late, but when I did, part of my mind was blown by this fact.)

During Tanabata, it’ll supposedly be 83 degrees here, much better than what I lamented about in my last post.

Tanabata will surely be a good day.

About three days ago, Marvelous Entertainment posted the schedule for the Sora no Manimani anime, which is set to begin on July 7. That’s a Tuesday; namely, the Tuesday following US Independence Day.

So I guess I’ll be watching some fireworks over the weekend and then I’ll be watching (and maybe subbing!) the stars three days later. Sounds like a plan!
